How Rental Periods Work

Every rental has a due date and time, printed on your receipt. Our standard periods:

The due time matters as much as the date: a machine due at 9 AM and returned at noon is three hours late. We text a reminder two hours before your due time — every rental, automatically. Extensions simply move the due date forward by whole days, and re-tiering a long extension to the weekly rate can actually reduce your total, as shown below.

The Extension Process: One Phone Call

  1. Call (512) 555-0199 before your due time. This is the entire secret. Before, not after — extensions requested after the deadline are processed as late returns first, and late fees don't get unwound.
  2. Say how many more days you need. Be realistic; one extra day is cheaper than two separate one-day extensions.
  3. We check availability. If nobody has it reserved, the extension is approved on the spot and your new due date is texted to you.
  4. Extra days bill to your card on file. No trip to the shop needed. The deposit hold stays as-is.

We're open Mon–Sat 7 AM–6 PM. If your due time falls on a Sunday, call Saturday before close and we'll set it up in advance. Don't just keep the machine and hope — hope is the most expensive rental strategy there is.

What Extensions Cost

Extensions bill at the standard daily rate per additional 24 hours — but rate tiers can work in your favor:

MachineDaily RateExtra DaySmart Move
Pressure washer$89$893+ extra days? Convert to weekly
Carpet extractor$69$693+ extra days? Convert to weekly
Steam cleaner$79$793+ extra days? Convert to weekly
Floor scrubber$129$1292+ extra days? Ask about weekly
Soft wash kit$59$593+ extra days? Convert to weekly

Example: two days paid ($178 on a pressure washer) plus three more ($267) totals $445 — but a weekly rate from the start would be $356. When you call, ask us to re-tier: we'll convert the rental to weekly and credit what you've paid, often saving $50–$90. The 10% damage waiver scales with the subtotal automatically; delivery fees don't repeat.

The Late-Fee Schedule (What You're Avoiding)

Compare: one hour late without calling costs $20 plus a mark on your account. One call before the deadline costs $0 and converts the time to a clean extra day. Late fees come out of the deposit first and are always documented with timestamps — never a mystery charge.

When Extensions Aren't Possible

Sometimes the answer is no — never personal, always logistical:

When we can't extend your exact machine, we'll offer the closest available alternative — sometimes an upgrade at no extra charge — or deliver a replacement to your jobsite for the standard $45 fee. And the best extension is the one you never need: first-timers should add 50% to their time estimate, and weather-ifty jobs should book the weekend rate instead of a single day. Our weekend warrior timeline is the best antidote to optimistic scheduling we've published.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I extend by just a few hours instead of a full day?

Extensions price per 24 hours, but you have a free 30-minute grace period — and a 2–3 hour overrun at $20/hour is cheaper than a full day. Call first so it's logged as an approved short extension, not a late return.

Will extending affect my deposit?

No. The hold stays exactly as-is; only rental charges increase. It's released normally after the final return inspection.

Can I extend online or by text?

Currently by phone at (512) 555-0199 so we can confirm availability instantly. The two-minute call is the fastest path.

What if I finish early — do I get money back?

Daily and weekend rates are flat, so early returns don't earn refunds. Weekly rentals returned after 4+ days can sometimes be re-tiered down — ask us; it costs nothing to ask.

What happens if I just keep the machine without calling?

Late fees accrue per the schedule above, and after 48 hours of no contact we treat it as potential theft under the rental agreement. A two-minute call avoids all of it.
