What's Included With Your Rental
Steam cleaning is all about the attachments. That is why our steam rentals ship with the complete accessory kit — not a starter set with the good tools missing.
- Commercial vapor steamer (your choice of compact or continuous-fill model), descaled and test-fired
- Full grout and tile kit: triangle brush, rectangular floor brush, and microfiber pads
- Detailing kit: nylon detail brushes (3 sizes), brass brush for stubborn buildup, jet nozzle
- Upholstery and fabric bonnet for mattresses, curtains, and car seats
- Window squeegee attachment for streak-free glass and mirrors
- Extension wands (2 × 20 in) for floors and high surfaces
- Heat-resistant gloves rated for steam work (PPE — wear them; steam burns are serious)
- Safety glasses
- 2 microfiber mop pads and 4 detail cloths
- Laminated quick-start card plus the manufacturer's full manual
Not included / available as add-ons:
- Distilled water (recommended for hard-water areas; available at the counter)
- Chemical degreasers for pre-treatment (optional — steam alone handles most jobs)
Popular Models & Specs
The key specs on a vapor steamer are boiler temperature, operating pressure, and whether the tank refills while running. Continuous-fill models never make you wait. For a deeper comparison of cleaning methods, see renting vs. buying cleaning equipment.
| Model | Power | Tank/Capacity | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| RWG VaporGo 4 | 1750W electric; 65 PSI steam; 298°F boiler | 1.1-gal tank; ~50 min runtime | Bathrooms, kitchens, spot grout work, apartments |
| RWG SteamPro 8 | 2200W electric; 87 PSI steam; 312°F boiler | Continuous fill from tap; unlimited runtime | Whole-house tile & grout, rentals, offices — most rented steamer |
| RWG DetailMax Pro | 3000W electric; 110 PSI steam; 330°F boiler | 1.6-gal tank + auto-refill | Auto detailing, engine bays, commercial kitchens, heavy grease |
| RWG WallMaster 12 | 2400W electric; 90 PSI steam; 315°F boiler | Continuous fill; 12 ft steam hose | Tall tile walls, shower enclosures, stairwells, long-reach work |
A word of honesty on sanitizing: steam's heat helps sanitize surfaces and is excellent at removing the grime microbes cling to, but no rental equipment can guarantee the elimination of all pathogens. For regulated environments like food service or healthcare, follow your industry's sanitizing protocols. For everything else — rental turnovers, allergy-sensitive homes, and deep spring cleans — a carpet extractor pairs well with steam for a whole-home reset.
Rental Workflow
Eight steps from counter to gleaming grout:
- Reserve. Book online, call (512) 555-0199, or walk in. Tell us your surfaces and square footage so we match the model and kit.
- Pick up & check in. Bring a valid photo ID and a card for the refundable $150 deposit. Steamers are compact and fit easily in any car trunk.
- Safety walkthrough. We heat the unit with you, demonstrate the trigger lock, and review the non-negotiables: heat-resistant gloves on, nozzle never pointed at skin, trigger locked when setting the unit down. Read the manual's safety section before first use.
- Prep surfaces. Sweep or vacuum loose debris first — steam is a deep cleaner, not a broom. Fill with water (distilled recommended in hard-water areas).
- Work top to bottom. Heat-up takes 8–12 minutes. Move the brush slowly — about one foot every 2–3 seconds — and let the heat do the work instead of your arms.
- Wipe as you go. Steam loosens; cloths remove. Follow each pass with a microfiber wipe so dissolved grime does not resettle.
- Cool down & drain. Let the boiler cool before opening, drain remaining water, and rinse the tank per the quick-start card to prevent scale.
- Return & inspection. Return by 6:00 PM on your due date with all attachments. We inventory the kit with you and release the deposit hold, usually within 1–2 business days.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does steam cleaning actually sanitize surfaces?
High-temperature vapor helps sanitize surfaces by loosening grime and biofilm so they can be wiped away, and heat above 212°F reduces many common microbes on contact. We make no guarantee about eliminating specific pathogens, and we recommend following public health guidance for truly sanitary environments.
What surfaces can I safely steam clean?
Sealed tile and grout, stone, stainless steel, sealed hardwood, stovetops, grills, and most bathroom fixtures handle vapor steam well. Avoid unsealed wood, laminate, painted drywall, and delicate electronics. When in doubt, test a hidden spot first.
Do I need chemicals with a steam cleaner rental?
No. Vapor steamers clean with superheated water only, which is why they are popular for homes with kids, pets, and allergy sensitivities. For heavy grease you can pre-treat with a mild degreaser, but the machine itself runs on plain tap or distilled water.
Is steam cleaning safe to do myself?
Yes, with basic precautions. Steam exits the nozzle at over 200°F, so we include heat-resistant gloves and require closed-toe shoes. Never point the nozzle at skin, and keep the trigger locked when setting the unit down. We cover all of this in the pickup walkthrough.
How much area can I cover in one rental day?
A typical renter deep-cleans 800–1,200 square feet of tile and grout, or details 2–3 bathrooms plus a kitchen, in a single day. Continuous-fill models run indefinitely on tap water, so there is no downtime waiting for refills.
What deposit is required for a steam cleaner rental?
A refundable $150 deposit is held on a credit or debit card at pickup with a valid photo ID. The hold is released after the return inspection, usually within 1–2 business days depending on your bank.
