How deposits work

The refundable deposit is collected at pickup and held for the length of your rental. It isn't a fee — it comes back to you after our return inspection, which checks the equipment's condition against the pickup record. Normal wear is expected and never charged against the deposit.

If there's damage beyond normal wear, cleaning needed beyond the basic clean, or a late return, those amounts are deducted from the deposit first, and any remaining balance is returned to you. Without a damage waiver, repair costs can exceed the deposit, and you'd be billed for the difference.

Should you take the damage waiver?

The damage waiver costs 10% of the equipment rental subtotal — on a $89 pressure washer day rental, that's $8.90. It covers the repair or replacement cost of accidental damage during normal, intended use: a dropped fitting, a knocked-over wand, a hose snagged on a corner.

It doesn't cover negligence, misuse, theft, or loss — the details are in our Terms of Service. For most renters, especially first-timers, the waiver is inexpensive peace of mind. Experienced contractors who rent weekly sometimes skip it; the choice is yours at pickup.
