- 4-inch upholstery hand tool for sofas, chairs, and car interiors
- Stair tool with ergonomic handle for carpeted staircases

Wondering whether renting beats buying? Consumer carpet cleaners typically run $200–$400 and cannot match commercial vacuum lift. Our comparison of renting vs. buying cleaning equipment explains when a one-day rental is the smarter money. Rental Workflow
From counter to clean carpet in eight steps:
- Reserve. Book online, call (512) 555-0199, or walk in. Tell us your square footage and we will size the machine and solution quantity for you.
- Pick up & check in. Bring a valid photo ID and a card for the refundable $150 deposit. Extractors roll on wheels and fit in most SUVs and truck beds.
- Safety walkthrough. We demonstrate hose connections, wand technique, and the recovery-tank float shutoff. PPE guidance: gloves when handling concentrates, and keep cords dry and clear of walkways.
- Prep the room. Vacuum thoroughly, move furniture, and pre-treat stains and high-traffic lanes. Test solution on a hidden area for colorfastness first.
- Extract. Work in slow, overlapping passes — one wet pass forward, two dry vacuum-only passes back. Empty the recovery tank and refill the solution tank as needed.
- Speed up drying. Set up the included air mover, crack windows or run the HVAC fan, and keep foot traffic off until fully dry (typically 2–4 hours with the air mover).
- Rinse & clean the machine. Flush the solution tank, empty and rinse the recovery tank, and wipe down the wand. Two minutes here protects your deposit.
- Return & inspection. Return by 6:00 PM on your due date. We inspect hoses, tools, and tanks with you, then release the deposit hold — usually within 1–2 business days.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is a commercial extractor different from a store-bought carpet cleaner?
Commercial extractors use higher pump pressure (up to 500 PSI) and much stronger vacuum lift than consumer machines, which means deeper cleaning and faster drying. They also run on larger tanks, so you refill and empty less often on big rooms.
Will rental equipment get pet stains and odors out of carpet?
Hot-water extraction with the included enzyme pre-treatment removes most surface staining and the residue that causes odors. Deep-set stains in the pad or subfloor may not come out fully, and we will tell you honestly what to expect during your rental consult.
How long does carpet take to dry after extraction?
Typically 4–8 hours with good airflow. Every rental includes a high-velocity air mover, which cuts that to about 2–4 hours. Keep foot traffic off the carpet until it is fully dry to avoid re-soiling.
Can I clean upholstery and stairs with the same rental?
Yes. Every extractor rental includes a 4-inch upholstery hand tool and a stair tool at no extra charge, so you can clean sofas, chairs, car interiors, and staircases with the same machine in one rental day.
Is cleaning solution included in the rental?
Yes. Your rental includes one gallon of professional pre-spray and one gallon of extraction rinse concentrate, enough for roughly 1,000–1,500 square feet. Extra jugs are available for purchase at the counter.
What deposit is required for a carpet extractor rental?
A refundable $150 deposit is held on a credit or debit card at pickup with a valid photo ID. The hold is released after the return inspection, usually within 1–2 business days depending on your bank.
